People Operations Associate
Join sunday Paris as People Operations Associate: support every employee journey, strengthen HR operations, and improve systems and processes in a fast-growing international fintech.
👋 About Us
sunday is building the fastest, simplest way to pay in restaurants. With a quick scan of a QR code, diners can pay, tip, and leave in about 10 seconds. We believe great products should feel obvious, not complicated, and we focus relentlessly on keeping things simple while earning trust from restaurants and guests at every interaction. Today, sunday powers payments in thousands of restaurants across the US, UK, and France, helping operators turn tables faster, increase tips, and unlock valuable insights. We push ourselves to go beyond what’s expected, building with ownership, moving fast, and scaling with ambition as we tackle our biggest growth opportunity in the US.
About the Role
We are looking for a People Operations Associate to join our People team in France (Paris).
This is a hands-on role for someone at the beginning of their People career who wants to build a strong foundation in HR operations, employee experience and HR systems within an international fintech environment.
You will be a reliable first point of contact for employees and managers on day-to-day People topics. You will support the full employee lifecycle, from contracts and onboarding to payroll, benefits, performance processes and offboarding. As you grow into the role, you will take ownership of recurring processes and help us improve our documentation, tools and ways of working.
This role is ideal for someone who combines operational rigour with genuine care for employees. You do not need to know everything on day one, but you should be curious, organised, discreet and eager to learn.
Key Responsibilities
Support employees and managers
Act as a first point of contact for routine questions related to contracts, payroll, benefits, leave and employee administration.
Provide clear, accurate and empathetic answers, escalating complex or sensitive topics when needed.
Manage People requests from start to finish and ensure that employees receive timely follow-up.
Handle confidential information with a high level of discretion and professionalism.
Contribute to employee-facing People communications and internal knowledge bases.
Support the employee lifecycle
Prepare and follow up on employment contracts and employee documentation.
Coordinate preboarding and onboarding activities with managers, IT and other stakeholders.
Ensure that employee data, documents and workflows are correctly updated in HiBob.
Support employee changes, including contract updates, benefits, leave and personal information.
Coordinate the administrative steps of offboarding with employees, managers, IT and Finance.
Support the preparation and delivery of performance cycles and other People processes.
Help ensure that employees receive a consistent and high-quality experience throughout their journey at sunday.
Support payroll and benefits operations
Collect, check and follow up on monthly payroll inputs with Finance and external payroll providers.
Help answer employee questions related to payslips, payroll and French benefits.
Support the administration of health insurance, disability insurance, transport support, meal vouchers, leave and other benefits.
Maintain accurate records and ensure that relevant deadlines are met.
Improve processes, data and tools
Keep employee data accurate and up to date in HiBob and other relevant systems.
Contribute to the documentation of People processes in Notion.
Identify recurring questions, inefficiencies and manual processes.
Suggest practical improvements to simplify and improve the employee experience.
Support automation and process improvements across our People tools and workflows.
Contribute to basic People reporting and operational follow-up.
Work cross-functionally with Finance, IT, Talent Acquisition and Talent Management to improve how we operate.
Join early, grow fast, and shape the journey!
